• AT NIGHT IN THE MUSEUM - THE RESTAURANT HOTEL WANÅS

    A unique mix of art happening, eco estate and noble castle: in the southern Swedish province of Skåne lies one of the most unusual hotels in the country - the Restaurant Hotel Wanås.

    The English landscape park with ancient oaks and beech trees around the medieval Wachtmeister castle is also a unique sculpture park run by the Wanås Foundation. World stars of the cultural scene were allowed to live on the property for a while, in return they created lasting works of art: Yoko Ono, for example, Wish Trees - visitors can write their wishes on a piece of paper and hang them in the trees, the artist Anne Thulin giant red balls enthroned in a tree crown.

     

    Individual mix of vintage chic and Scandi hipness

    The 11 guest rooms of the Restaurant Hotel Wanås are mainly made of local materials and are individually decorated in an ingenious mix of vintage chic and Scandi hipness. And: in none of them you will find a minibar, a coffee machine or a television. Dinner is served in the former cowshed. The menu changes seasonally, most of the products are sustainably grown on the estate or purchased from local producers. And the meat comes from the farm's own organic farm.
