• ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY LODGING - ALILA VILLAS ULUWATU

    Bild 1

When choosing accommodation, more and more people are paying attention to what sustainable criteria the houses, in which they spend their holidays, fulfill. More and more care is being taken to ensure environmental sustainability and social commitment, and above all to ensure that hotels use nature's resources with the greatest possible care. We present eight exceptional hotels built from recycled or natural materials - from Egypt to Valais. This week’s favorite:

    ALILA VILLAS ULUWATU, BALI

High above the Indian Ocean, on the southern coast of Bali, the luxury hotel, built on limestone cliffs, sets new standards in sustainability. The resort was built to the highest ecological standards, wood from railway sleepers and telephone poles were recycled, for example, to furnish the rooms. Anyway, the rooms... You will be living wonderfully luxuriously in one of the 84 generously designed villas, each with its own pool. Brilliant: Lava stone roofs and bamboo ceilings minimize the consumption of electricity in the accommodations, air conditioning systems are hardly used. Alila Villas Uluwatu was also the first hotel in Bali to be awarded the "Earth Check" certificate -  exemplary in the tourism industry for combining luxury and respect for nature.
