Fresh flowers are everywhere, the smell of herbs, your eyes wander far over gentle hills on which the animals of the farm graze. An important aspect of the idea behind "La Donaira": total relaxation in harmony with nature and green lifestyle. The over a century old andalusian farmhouse and its stables were renovated in 2010 with great love and according to ecological criteria. Natural materials such as organic cotton, wood, and stone dominate the stylishly furnished rooms. You will stay overnight either in one of the beautifully furnished suites or in a yurt. There are only nine rooms in total.
In the former pigsty is the spa with a 21-meter long indoor pool and an outdoor pool made of natural stones. There is also a steam sauna and massage rooms. The water is pure spring water. Of course, La Donaira does without chlorine and chemical fertilizers. The food is also a real hit: it is cooked only with fresh organic food from the farm, accompanied by delicious, award-winning homemade wines. If you want you can book a vegan or vegetarian cooking course. The hotel also has its own stable with 80 horses.
This summer "La Donaira" is organising the "Pause" festival for the second time (15-19 August). At open-air concerts, well-known artists such as pianists Julien Brocal and Julien Libeer and cellist Camille Thomas perform. And of course everything revolves around ecological agriculture, green lifestyle, design, art and ecotourism. Only 100 tickets are sold per concert to create an intimate atmosphere (double rooms from 250 Euro per person including full board, www.ladonaira.com).
