The illustrator Olaf Burchard designed a capsule collection for the modern slow fashion premium brand PHYNE. We talked to Creative Director Dirk Meycke about the Pre-Sale concept and why this is a sustainable approach.

WHAT IS "PHYNE"?
PHYNE is a label for sustainable and durable basics and modern streetwear for men and women. At the same time we develop new, exciting and resource-saving materials and techniques.

CURRENTLY THE HAMBURGER ILLUSTRATOR OLAF BORCHARD CREATED A LIMITED CAPSULE COLLECTION. WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT IT?
The "Skinny Bitches" illustrated by Olaf are well-known from Grazia Magazine or from window displays at the KaDeWe and Windsor. For this Capsule Collection, Olaf illustrated his beloved do Rudi as well as his homage to women and the city of fashion, Paris. The motives are printed and small details are lovingly refined with embroidery.

With the pre-order or pre-sale, we want to make sure that we only produce pieces that generate real enthusiasm. It's always difficult to predict which motive will excite the masses and which less. Even if we love them ALL! 

WHY IS THIS CONCEPT ESPECIALLY SUSTAINABLE?
The fact is: we want to conserve resources right from the start and avoid "garbage" in the end since we only produce what is pre-orderd.

In contrast to large corporations, we can react directly to our customers.
