nat 2™ is known for cool sneakers of the highest quality as well as for sustainability and innovation. Can you please introduce yourself?
I come from a family of shoe designers, in the 6th generation since 1856. In 2007 I founded the label nat-2™ in Munich. The unisex brand designs non-seasonal collections with a special focus on quality, innovation and sustainability. The label uses unique and unusual materials, some of them are vegan.
The perfect place to switch off? You will find it on a former tea plantation in Sri Lanka. The puristically designed Santani Wellness Resort is quite secluded in a mystical mountain landscape, about an hour by car northeast of Kandy.

Since when do you deal with the topic of sustainability?
After racing around the world as a fashion manager for many years, one day I said "stop" to the fashion industry and disposable consumption. I wanted to create a project, that could embrace my values of quality over quantity, fair working conditions, support women and small local suppliers, reduce pollution and respect the animals. Since the end of 2015 Knitted-Love has been my idea of downshifting.
No more pre-Christmas stress and finally a holiday! But where to? Our tip: a few days at the Alpin & Relax Hotel Das Gerstl in Vinschgau, a real paradise for skiers, cross-country skiers and all those who love wellness. The four-star Superior House is situated on a magnificent southern slope above Burgeis, from where you have a view over the valleys and the Ötztal Alps. Most beautiful place: the infinity pool with breathtaking views. And the spa with a clay barley, a panorama, a mountain herb and family saunas, with a Vinschger Cercial steam bath and a whirlpool. The rooms? Cosy and chic with lots of wood and colourful highlights.
